| Senior Member | Well I just talked to the chief pilot today, and apparently the upgrade classes are canceled. I was scheduled for June, so it looks like I'm at the top of the F.O. seniority list for at least another few months. While at least 5 people have upgraded below me. I love making 26 bucks an hour with a baby on the way........ Anyways, everyone at Colgan hold on. Looks like it might be a rough ride.

Yeah, having just come from the schoolhouse, the word is the next few SF3 upgrade classes have been postponed for a couple months. Very ironic considering we're still hiring street captains.....doesn't make much sense to me. | |

| Old Skool | Interesting. I'm hearing rumblings of "major changes" on this side of the operation in training from sim instructors and check airmen (including some big mandatory meeting EVERYONE in the training dept has to attend). Wonder if they're gonna start combining stuff to save $$$.....

| Thats nothing new... Given the sudden lack of attrition, i would expect it. You do know that you can upgrade in The 1900 right? they are still running upgrades for that. Yeah, the plane will be gone soon... and then they will have to give you a left seat transition. Pay is the same now. Leagle moves are FO to any Aircraft CA, Beech CA to SAAB/Q400 CA, SAAB CA to Q400 CA... althought with saab and beech ca pay being the same now, i suppose a saab CA could bid a 1900 CA spot... but i don't know why. I'D Go for an ATP and type right now... worry about the rest in a bit as it looks like we've got a few years to hang on here. They are hurting for 1900CA's

| Senior Member | Hey Tuck, do you know how many hours they want for a Beech Transition? Well in that case at least I'm Captain pay protected....oh yeah no union. Cruise, did LB upgrade yet?

| Just fill out a standing bid prefrence form, and call Dean bandivanis now i guess...we are actually hurting for beech CA's. If you have atp mins, and 700 hours in your type they can send you. In the last 3 month more than half the 1900 CA's went to the Q or saab. They only have 1 IOE CA. If your class was canceled, and they hire street CA's they will give you bypass pay. If you were bypassed because you didn't have enough hours to upgrade, then they will not... as you were not eligble to upgrade. Once agin, talk to Dean. He is new in the position, but seems to be pretty on the ball.

| I was scheduled for a june class also. I heard though that upgrades were cut in half not cancelled. Guess if you heard it from dean that's the case. At least we get the good schedules for a while longer before we go to the bottom of the barrel again. Although I would rather have standups as a captain than my top pick as an fo :/ |

| Any word on whether or not we will get more Q400's in '09? This will certainly help upgrades start up again. If we don't get more Q's count on the upgrades continuing to be very slow, the quick upgrades before were aided by attrition...and nobody is leaving right now. ![]() |
