So I filled in the airlineapps thing for comair, and i guess it also went through to AE. Below is the email i recieved 2 weeks later!! Now, bare in mind I have 1200TT & 200 Multi!! Now given all the talk of them hiring 250TT guys, WTF???

************************************************** *****
Thank you for your interest in a First Officer position with American Eagle.

We regret to inform you at this time you are not considered as competitive as other candidates. While we realize this may be discouraging, we hope you understand only a limited number of people are selected. Should you desire you may re-apply with American Eagle in six months, from the date of this letter.

Thank you again for your interest in American Eagle, and good luck in your future endeavors.

Sincerely,

John Dixon
Director, Pilot Recruitment
American Eagle Airlines, Inc.

If you accidentally shot off an airline app to AE, maybe it was generated incomplete and rejected. Just a guess.

Another guess, things have really slowed down. Keep trying.

That makes no sense at all, but as said above if it was accidently sent there and you didn't fill out their addendum, then I guess you would get a rejection email like this.

Oh and it makes no sense because hr said yesterday you need 100 multi to be competitive

They haven't canceled interviews. What happened was they raised the Multi requirement to 100 which put a lot of people who went to job fairs, etc. out until they get 100. Got letters saying their interview was canceled.

I went through the 2 day interview procerss at AE and was given a conditional job offer. A few days latter I received an e-mail from HR rejecting my offer. I did lack the new 100 ME requirement so I figure that's the reason my offer was rejected.

Overall not too impressed with the interview process at Eagle. I would recommend applying elsewhere.

Unimpressed with the airline or the interview process?

In my opinion it raises red flags for a company like Eagle to cancel scheduled interviews, reject offers, etc. just because they decide at the last second to raise time requirements. Not to say that AE may be a good place to work once you make it to the line?

I would agree that you would be better off at Comair. I got the impression at the AE interview that hiring is slowing down. Probably the reason the multi time requirement was raised from 50 to 100.

I think a big part in why eagle has raised the multi requirement a whole 50 hours is because just about everyone else has stopped hiring. Also in talking to some of the IOE captains a lot of the low timers are having a tough time making it on the line.

I feel for you man. The same thing happened to a friend of mine. I guess its all about timing. My friend interviewed last monday, completed the process and left the 3rd day with a conditional letter. He had the EXACT same times as me when I was hired about a month ago. 500/130. Then last friday he received the email saying that his conditional letter had been rejected. Im positive if he had interviewed a few weeks earlier he would have been good to go.

I interviewed April 21st...got the capt's board approval on the 25th and still haven't been told anything other than the response I got from HR Monday....I emailed them asking when I might hear something regarding a class date and a spot in the RJ course...Tiffany wrote back saying "we might be canceling the program but we're not sure on it and as soon as I hear something I'll let you know"

The suspense is killing me....

Y'all should have heard the rumors going around HDQ today before Arpey's conference call.

Some verrrrrry high numbers of capacity reduction are being crunched.

Wow! that is pretty low for a company to tell a guy he is hired and then just send him an email saying "oh nevermind we lied" At least tell him why the offer was pulled. I would be so sick if that happened to me.

Ha! I got the same rejection e-mail yesterday. I'm 100 hrs. short.

Yup, always keep your bags packed and ALWAYS have a fall back position in this profession.

Back to instructing for me.

AE is not the only company that is doing this same thing. I interviewd for a company back in March and got an approval letter. About two weeks after that when I was waiting to find out when I would start class I recieved a letter stating that my employment letter was being withdrawn. It may just be a sign of how tough things are getting in the industry now.

Well it is a conditional offer. The letter they give you does say "This offer is contingent on being approved by the captains review board, as well as medical and background check." From what I hear, about a month and a half ago the Captains review board would let almost anyone through. However thats not the case anymore.

I have not started class yet, but am in the RJO program with flight safety right now. Even though AE is dropping $8500 for the program, and we have a scheduled class date of June 9th, I still worry that AE is going call up and give us some bad news about no longer needing us or something. I wont believe it until Im actually sitting in the classroom in Dallas.

Yesterday, Arpey said there's going to be a major reduction in flying. He just didn't throw out a number. We'll know 'officially' soon enough.

On another note, what's the latest around the schoolhouse? I heard y'all are doing 15 new hires a class instead of 30 now?
