In that letter, it has to deal with you working at one company and flying 135 stuff as well as instructing at that same outfit during the same duty time. That has nothing to do with working at a 121 outfit and instructing on the side during your off time not during your required rest from your 121 gig. Either way, I'd say just teach ground or sim for the extra cash.

I know a CAL guy that flies less than 80 hours a month, and will not instruct for more than 20 hours a month. He's worked with half the guys at the PWM FSDO at past airlines, they have said its part of his 100 hours a month. He is on the conservative side when it comes to these things, and likes anonymity in the CPs office.
