Default Have to stay in NYC, so . . . choices?

For someone (like me) whose family obligations means he must be based at one of the three New York City airports, what advice would you give for picking an airline? This will be my first airline job. I meet the mins for Eagle (LGA), Colgan (EWR), Comair (JFK), AWAC (LGA), and Chautauqua (JFK). Eagle is likely my first choice, but that's not set in stone. I'd really appreciate some advice from those who know.

Colgan and CHQ aren't hiring.

Get in NOW or find a good instructing job. It could be awhile before hiring resumes.

Piedmont has a crew base at LGA and will be hiring until the end of the year. All the regionals are ..more or less the same when it comes to first year flying..some pay more, some pay less but all have a lot of the same problems. Now PDT, pays better then any you mentioned thus far for a new hire..but you'll have to be able to cope with flying a twin fan powered passenger relocation device vs. a shiny replacement jet.

I second PDT, especially depending on how much time you have. PDT is gonna run into a few problems here soon with hiring a lot of low time guys. They wont be able to upgrade, so you may jump up the list quite fast for upgrade. My friend is there and he says the QOL is decent and the pay isn't bad at all.

Comair is hiring. JFK is a great base. Hope you don't mind sitting number 46 for takeoff.

Eagle's hiring, and still offering choice of base. If you want LGA, you'll get it.

Now's the time, if you want to come to Eagle. We've got the rest of the flowbacks going back to AA so there's movement in the seniority list and we were shorthanded on FOs to begin with.

If you'd like more information, feel free to PM me.

You do, and I'm looking forward to it this summer. If you get on with Comair now, you might have a few hundred below you.

JFK evening push, usually = $$$$$$$$$$$$$$. The company has adjusted the block times to prevent that but it's JFK.
