Would you take 500 dollars cash to trade lines with someone junior to you? You would go from a 96 hour line to a line with reserve and about 24 hours of block. I am going to training the end of the month as well.

If your line sucks, too bad for you! I worked my A** off to get where I am just for you to bribe me back down? |

How much is your guarantee on reserve? For me the answer is obvious. The 96 hour line is worth about 24 more hours then I'd be credited for on reserve (and they never overfly us) so even WITH the $500 I'd be making about $1000 less. Even with your pay rate being less for the 1900, I think you'd still be making more with your hard line. Oh yeah, and the having a schedule thing. Personally, Alex, I'll take HELLS NO for 800. |

I voted yes but that was before i realized that you'd lose the over guarantee pay...which means its a wash or you even lose money. So definitely not. Now if it was just a guarantee credit flying line versus a guarantee reserve line + $500 I'd probably say yes because my crashpad is already paid for and under the table cash is sweet. |

Ok, now that I've heard the "special circumstances" involved in this, I'm actually going to say that in this case, it make sense to do.

I should have gone into more detail. My 96 hour line would turn into a guarantee line anyway because of my training for the Q. They are going to take the last week and a half to two weeks of scheduled flying from me if I stayed with the full line. So my 96 hour line would turn into a guarantee line anyway because of losing the scheduled flying the last two weeks. Furthermore, I will be flying the LAST scheduled Beech out of LGA with the line I am being paid to take. I decided to do it. Take the money and get the second line.

| Old Skool | Yeah, ditto here. I voted "no" b/c of the loss of $$$$. But, if you're not gonna break guarantee anyway, hell yeah do it.

What I mean is if Seggy has worked to get where he is now, He should not let someone bribe him to go back where he struggled to get out of. The way how I wrote is was in a way he should tell the guy/girl! | |

the thing you probably don't understand JA is that it's only for one trip (4-6 days), not permanently (this is where it's good to listen and learn the lay of the land vs adding input). ![]() if you're gonna lose $$, commute time or have really crap layovers segs, it's not worth it. |

who pays $500 dollars? What is the benefit of losing 500 dollars and having a line???

sounds to me like the junior guy is wanting to pay $500 to change trips with seggy. i think the overall benefit would be having the line and not having to sit reserve for a week much less get whatever trip is awarded you during that reserve time. question comes down to whether the $500 is a profit or a loss considering all factors. |

I guess it makes sense if the overguarantee he will get is greater than 500 dollars. The beech operation is so crazy right now that all rules are thrown out the window anyway.

He has a ton of stuff going on. He REALLY needed the weekends off, I would have helped him out, however I was not going to sit reserve the whole month straight up with Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays off. Quote:
![]() Yep, well the dust has settled our bids closed today and the lines have been awarded. Because of the craziness that is the Beech 1900 at Colgan this was a very smart move. Looks like it will work out for him and me.
