Default CHQ April 1st class?

Anyone in the 145 class for CHQ that starts on April 1st? (yes, April 1st).

Just looking to make connections and wondering if anyone knows if it's true that we're headed to CLE for CoEx.

I'm not in the April 1st class, but I'll be there in early April for upgrade training. Look me up; I'll be the short chick who is constantly smiling and heading outside for smoke breaks. As for CLE, you may get stuck there, you may not. I know there are a lot of guys who are waiting a month or two before putting their request in for CLE, just to see how the lines look. I believe the base is opened as of April. By the time you finish Indoc, Groundschool, Sim, and IOE, things no doubt will have changed.

When I was in recurrent last week, a man in the know came and spoke to our class. As of now, they want to keep CLE a rather small base - with about 11 lines or so, and about 33 people in each position there. However, with as much as Bedford wants to please Continental, and as many other bases that handle CLE flying, I wouldn't be surprised if it grows significantly this year.

Anyhow, good luck and welcome. Hope to see you there.

Welcome to CHQ... I heard the lines are going to be good out of CLE. Either way its gonna be pretty easy to get anywhere you want within a couple of months.

Thank you guys for the welcome-you have a solid, good reputation from what I have been hearing.
I interviewed in late Feb (w/ 2200TT and 70twin). It was a really great interview process and I felt really good about how I did. I didn't post it b/c I haven't passed training yet--but I'm excited and a little bit nervous. I think this is really a great place to get started. I think what I am most nervous about is not even the flying of the airplane or ground school or anything --it is all the logistics of figuring out where to move to and stuff, which is why I asked about CLE. Sounds like things change about as much as I change my socks.

I think I can fit my life into the trunk of my car, though, so it shouldn't be too bad.

Thanks and I'll find you in Indy! (Or STL).

If anyone has any tips on what I might do to prepare or CHQ living, and can PM me, that would be great.

Sorry, I'm on the CHQ side. In my tenure at CHQ, I've been lucky enough to have a WHOLE CREW who smokes all of 2 times. Usually, I'm the leper of the bunch. Careful with those "secret" smoking areas.... even the ones I thought were safe, I've been ... uh... "burned." Really pissed off a guy in Kansas City who was an avid nonsmoker, and security caught me in Houston as I was raising the cigarette to my lips. Luckily, I've avoided being slapped with a fine both times.

End hijack. Jjm, I'll PM ya when April gets close. In the meantime, I've gotta get back to my flashcards.

Just say you didn't see the signs. I smoke too and thats why you gotta love CVG.

As for CHQ living. Just be flexible and keep an open mind. Know your contract and don't let Scheduling intimidate you into doing things you don't legally have to. Never has happened to me just a couple times a new scheduler didn't know our contract and I had to correct them. Don't do them any favors unless you really want to, because I promise, they won't remember. Overall in my short time here I haven't been bent over yet. Be ready to fly, I only sat reserve for a month and flew like 85 hours that month.
