Default Spirit Airlines

Hello!

Any Spirit Airline pilots that can answer me a couple of questions?

* Mininum days off per month
* Junior Base (I hear that they are shipping newbies to SJU, I want FLL)
* If above true, how long to get back to FLL
* Flight privileges for family?

I currently fly for Eagle and I am very interested in Spirit. I recently sent the long application and have a feeling they just might call me for an interview and want to be prepared. Please tell me the good, bad and ugly. I can take it, I work for Eagle.

Thank you very much!

I know someone who just got picked up by Spirit who also flew for Eagle. I think he will be based in SJU, which he doesn't mind, as he flies out of there for Eagle right now anyway.

I too know of a few ex-Eagle FO's who went over there without any 121 PIC. I've got a lot of PIC, some of it turbine from a Caravan from my freight days but only 450 or so multi. Altogether the turbine adds up to around 900 counting the turbine from my current 121 FO job.

I know their website advertises 2000 TT with 250 multi as mins. I wonder what the competitive mins are though. I have around 2100 with 450 multi and 400 or so 121 SIC. Spirit might be a place to go to that "could be" my last stop if I could get in.

Spirit has definitely been picking up lower time guys (Regional FOs and Riddle guys). I think the realize with many of the larger carriers hiring it may be difficult to retain pilots. Guys go there for a year or less and then leave for a CAL/SWA/DL/FedEx etc....

Now they hire guys with little to no TPIC and they know you really have much fewer options of leaving. We'll hire guys with less experience so that they won't leave later basically.
