So I'm doing three trips this week. I did a six day Paris, followed by a four day Milan and a three day Madrid. All of the trips are blocked together so all I have to do is fly in once to NYC this month, fly out and enjoy the sweet nectar of having a big block of time off this month. The second trip, coincidentally with a check airman was taken for a new hire pilot's IOE. Basically, I'm on the hook for 12 hours PRIOR to my dropped trip to receive replacement flying. If there's no replacement flying assigned, I've got some days off... I'm working on my jepps in my commuter hotel and realized that over the past few months, I've misplaced my Venice jepps and mistakenly put VIENNA where Venice should be... Phone rings not less than THREE minutes later... "Hi Doug, this is 'Lanna crew schedulin', we've got some replacement flyin' for ya, we got you on rotation (something), a three day to Venice..." "Hello? Tech pubs?" I feel your pain. For the longest time, I could not find my Joe Pool XX Departure for DAL. It was driving me nuts. I finally found it nowhere near anything else. I think my Jepps all go dancing on their days off and end up being nowhere close to where I left them. Either that or bag gnomes. |

I know on the Brasilia, the Venice charts are right before the West Yellowstone ones. We don't get there very often though.

UPS has a deal with Jepp where we can download charts. I guess you'd need to figure out how to print them out, though. Our pilot bible book also only requires one set of charts for dispatch, too, so I'd fess up on check in and see how it goes.

| As do NWA and XJT and a few others. The great thing is, you can print them out and use them temporarily in instances like this since they are current.

When we got LIDO's I did not have ANY IND charts.... We are able to go online and download/print whichever charts we need. I am sure every company's tech pubs has a solution.

Came to work early and got 'em all printed out. I'm probably the most "Jepps current" guy on the airplane now!

At least you didn't once replace a Boston 11-2 with a Detroit 11-2... now that is a moron move. So far, what's your favorite int'l destination? One of your 767 Check Airman was telling me about the Lagos, Nigeria Sheraton - sounds intense! J. |

Actually, I made some extra -- mea culpa, I didn't understand the contract correctly. Hotel in VCE sucked, but good location. Cold and windy! I'll save the 'big story' for the blog which I've got to get off my rump and update.
