| Old Skool | I had my schedule changed 18 times today. In crewtrac it is showing Y1103R as my pairing. The pairing number starts as Y1103, for every change it changes the pairing number going alphabetically. Good news was it was a ten hour pay day, bad news it was a 15 hour duty day on min rest.

| Old Skool | Eh... I went to "R" on this 4 day trip. Highlights include -Getting a random drug test after my first leg. -Getting pulled off my 200 trip to go fly a 700 trip. -Having the first leg of the second day get pushed back to 8pm due to MX. -Have to repo an airplane back in from the overnight due to no originating crew. -Having a MX problem on the plane we were supposed to repo after pushing back from the gate. -Waiting 1 hour for MX to get there only to be told they weren't going to fix the problem but were just going to sign a ferry permit. -Being told to ferry a mostly broken (the engine had a BAD vibration) airplane from MEM to Dayton at 3 in the morning around some nasty weather and into an airport that was currently reporting 1/16 of a mile but forecasted to be 3/4 mile when we got there. -Getting out of the repo and overnighting in Memphis anyways. -Repoing the still mostly broken airplane back to Charlotte the next morning. -Getting hit by a laser while climbing out of Philly into a 1000 foot ceiling. I am SO ready for two days off. |

| Old Skool | To clarify this 'R' happened today between 5:35 AM and 9:00 PM. It was a day trip.

| I got to letter N overnight once, but the net change was only a few legs. I thought it was funny that they'd done so much while I slept from 1AM to 11AM with my phone off and the net change was so little. BobDDuck I like how the list ends with getting hit by a laser. It's like the dessert of the trip. As for 18 changes in a day, I don't even know what to say about that. The weather in the northeast today did not seem that bad.

| Old Skool | Were you flying with a female FO on 4966? in and out REAL quick around 6. I heard her on the radio while I was doing a PPL test review with a student.

Ok, that was just wrong. I think he wins the change war though if all that stuff was in one day. | |

| Old Skool | Well, that explains the text message I got. ![]() I was supposed to do MEM-JAN, overnight on a nice, cushy 11 hour overnight, then do JAN-DTW-ABE-DTW-TYS the next day. Then JAN cxld due to mx. So, we're required to call scheduling. CA and FA both get PNRs for a DH to DTW the next morning. I'm thinking "SWEET! I get to sleep in my own bed tonight." I get "Uhhh, hold on. We're gonna send you to XNA." Fine, I like that hotel better anyway. Huh? Flight leaves at 11:30 pm? It's 6 pm, and I started at 1 pm, so I've got tons of duty time left. No getting out that way. "How much rest am I gonna get?" Oh, exactly 8 hours b/c we're gonna delay the departure in the morning. Uh....great. Except I'm on reduced rest the next night, too. If you reduce my rest tonight, I've got to have comp rest tomorrow. Scheduling: "Uh.....Um....we'll call you back." The plan was to have me do 8 hours in XNA, then extend my RR the next night 40 minutes to give me my exact 10 hours for comp rest. I'm thinking "Great. Bear min rest two nights in a row." Then they couldn't figure out how to get me to DTW to pick up with the rest of my crew. So, I lucked out. The next day, after my 8 hours of "rest," I got XNA-MSP, a DH to MEM, and was done. Originally, I was supposed to get home around 6 pm, but we hauled ass to MSP, and I made it on an earlier DH home. Needless to say, when I caught back up with my orginal crew the next day, they were a little jealous of my easy day compared to their hard one in and out of snowy DTW. That's just a case of where it can SOMETIMES work in your favor. More often than not, you're left dangling and trying to teach some new scheduler how to do their own job since they were just thrown to the wolves.

Yep that was me. That was a sheet of ice yesterday. Braking action was poor. I flew in and then swapped commanders and deadheaded back. You are going to get a beatdown Affirm.

| Old Skool | Oh, I knew where this week was headed when I found myself circling Boston at 6:45AM on Monday morning, with an emergency declared because, my gear would not come down and I had to hand pump the gear down.

| I love technology but sometimes it is just too creepy. I am shopping for houses and Google maps now has a street view, you can "walk" down the street and pan around looking at a specific house. Freaky. Sorry, off topic.
