| Junior Member | So I was chatting with a 767 captain that I know and flies for ABX, and he had mentioned that there was a new hire class of 5 people just recently, and no one showed up for class... Is there something going on where major jobs are becoming so readily available that people would actually forgo working for such a company? I wonder if it's just because of their new domicile in Japan that's keeping people from working there....I definitely know that I wouldn't hesitate! |

| Senior Member | Maybe the realization that they may have to go to Japan was a turn off. They may have had families or other situations that would prevent them from going overseas.

| There are several issues with ABX. One is the Japan thing, but also is the fact that they're just an ACMI carrier now and not really flying their own freight like they did when they were Airborne Express. That affects job security. They're competing with Astar to fly DHL freight. If I was at a regional, I would still take the job, but it certainly wouldn't be top on my list.

| Agent Smith | Aren't they just another carrier bidding for Deuschte Post/DHL flying?

| Pretty much. They do have their Asian flying now with the 767s, but that's just ACMI flying like Polar or Kalitta.
