| Just starting out at a regional. Money isn't really that big of an issue as my parents are getting me luggage/flight case for X-mas. I have been searching the last couple of days for the best luggage/case for not too much money. This is what I am thinking about getting: Purdy Neat tote bag: http://www.stopoverstore.com/product...d/406/pid/1975 Purdy Neat Stealth NG: http://www.stopoverstore.com/product...nid/365/pid/30 The only problem is that I own a 17" laptop and the Purdy Neat Stealth Computer Front only holds up to a 14.1" laptop. I plan on taking my laptop with me on trips so do you have any suggestions on decent luggage that can hold a 17" laptop? Also, is a tote ok for my flight supplies or should I (or my parents) pony up the extra dough for a flight case? Thanks! PS. If it helps, I'll be in the CRJ-200/700

| Old Skool | Yeah, don't trust putting it in the front flap. Either take a separate laptop bag and slide it over the handles (that's what I do) or use the duffle that clips on. I think that's what Doug does with his.

| If I were to do it over again I would get the Purdy Neat 22 with the plastic frame. Because the metal is heavy and gets bent. I personally have the $99 Costo.

| So will I be alright with a Purdy Neat 22", a flight case (any suggestions) and a tote bag or something along the lines of that for a misc. things? Will they all fit on the roller? Sorry, but I want to make sure I don't buy too much/not enough.

| Senior Member | I bought this after reading several recommendations: http://www.stopoverstore.com/product...id/245/pid/106 Although I have never taken it on a plane and can't testify to it's durability (still in training ), it does fit three 2" binders, a 1" binder, a 1" FOM, a 2" CFM, and my enroute charts all on the bottom of the case, with enough room on top to easily fit a pair of headsets (can even fit the entire Bose headset case on top if you take out the removable hard sides from the Bose case...it's just a tiny tiny bit to big to lay in there otherwise).

| Agent Smith | If money's not a concern. Scott Leather bag, PNS Stealth. On the laptop... When I was domestic, I'd keep it in a padded "Mac Case" and slide that inside of my suitcase and lock it. Laptop bags just mean "steal me!" Now I have a Swiss laptop case, which I keep magazines, an iPod, my Skype phone and my cellphones in, with my laptop, then clip it on the bars of my suitcase with a carbine clip. But I'm only in an airport every once in a while and no plane swaps so the extra bag isn't a problem. Plus it's handy as hell during the commute. ![]() ![]() No I don't wear it as a backpack ever because it's strictly verboten by our uniform code. But it certainly comes in handy when it comes to bringing back massive amounts of EuroSwag after a trip! ![]()

| Laptop in the front flap works just fine. As long as you're not gate-checking the bag, your laptop won't be hurt at all.

| Biggest id go for the CRJ is a 17in rollaboard, unless you dont mind gate checking it all the time. Also for a flight case, the widest is like 19" anything with wheels on it wont fit. Thats what I had initially, a cheap 39$ one from staples, then I bought a ballistic nylon one so it would fit. Then I moved Co. and my old one will fit in the 170 but Im stuck schlepping a 200$ dollar one...damn Mesa lol |

| So if I get the PNS 22", it won't fit onboard? It seems like I'm dragging this forum out but I don't want to make a decision I'll regret so thanks for the help everyone!

| Old Skool | It'll fit. Trust me. It slides in the CRJ like a glove. If you have to commute or DH on an RJ, you'll have to gate check it. To me, that's not that big of a deal. I have yet to have any problems with it DH on mainline, and it fits in the overhead bin of the 757, Airbus, and DC-9 just fine.

| Old Skool | I know a couple buddies that have the PNS with the padded front for the laptop. They both regret getting it because it takes up a lot of space. As for me I have a Mac Case like doug and I just pack it in my rollaboard on top. But i have a 12 in laptop, not a 17 like yours.

| Old Skool | The length isn't the problem. If you pack that thing where it's bluging, the depth is what will kill you in the CRJ. I've got the 26" PNS, and it fits just fine.
