Default New Southernjets Bid:

For perspective, I'm a Jan 1998 hire, about 4800 or so on the seniority list.

Wow that looks like a lot of movement.

Where to those 767ER trips out of LAX go? Hawaii?

Hawaii for now.

I wouldn't be surprised if they somehow don't get wrapped up in the SLC-CDG flying eventually.

If he's on the road, if you give PM his credentials I can pull it for him if you don't know how. But he'll have to immediately change them because I don't want to be blamed for his HNL C-172 FO award!

It closes on 11/15 so he should have time.

So does the omission of a seniority number mean it can go to anyone? Am I reading that right?

Where is a 7000 number in terms of DOH?

He's working now, but I just checked at saw it closes on the 15th. He's got oodles of time. I also searched around and found out he does not actually have an -800 bid in there after all. Last updated in Sep of '06. He's about 500 jr to the most jr current ATL 88A, and there's 109 guys senior to him with a bid for it, but only 32 of them have it as their first choice. So, some of those guys could end up somewhere else, not to mention current ATL 88A guys bidding off of it.

Keeping fingers crossed........ may not happen on this bid, but it's getting close! The second-most jr NYC 88A on the last bid was one junior to Bill and was in his new hire class . Bill cracked up cause in new hire class Bill took the last 727FE spot, and everyone below him got 737 Express. It would have been funny if he'd kept him 1 away from a CA spot too Turns out though that there were 2 guys junior to Bill that got that bid, so even if Bill had taken it, the other guy would have been the plug, but still held it.

The omission of a current number means that it is a new category opening up. Example, there is currently no CVG base for the -800, but these new bids are the initial offering of spaces for that category.

For example, Peanuckle is 6700-ish and a 2/2007 hire.

The most junior pilot on the seniority list is about 7100 and a 10/2007 hire.

Omission of a seniority number indicates that there are no pilots in the category yet so theoretically, if you bid LAX 73N captain and no one else more senior to you does, you're going to training.

Is Bill that far behind me? I thought it was only a couple of months or so. The 777 stuff in JFK is going to probably send the ER junior, the MD-88 even more junior and also probably gut the ATL M88 CA category too.

Oh I'll bet you Bill'll get it if he puts it in. Is he "WB"? If so, he's about 5400.

As always, bid what you want, but want what you bid! I learned that the hard way when I had to beg my way out of a SLC 73N bid several years ago.

He was a 10/99 hire, just hit his 8th anniversary a couple weeks ago. He only escaped furlough by 112 numbers after FMII. If another round had happened, he'd have been in it.

More info in case you care:

Quote:
The November, 2007 Advance Entitlement Bid is the continuation of our plan to fund the addition of eight 777LR aircraft, the acquisition of the 757ERs from American Airlines, and the new 737-700s. The following are the key points for this bid:

· This Advance Entitlement bid is the third of a series of AEs to fund the planned international growth that will continue through the summer of 2008.

· The NYC 777 categories will open April 1, 2008 and the main flying focus will be Mumbai, India.

· The LAX 7ER categories will open January 31, 2008 and the main flying focus will be Hawaii.

· The planned flying for the 757ERs, once the aircraft are modified to the Business Elite configuration, will mostly be JFK to Western Europe. This requires increasing the staffing in the NYC 7ER category.

· The ATL 765 Captain positions are the result of a shift in flying and the ATL 765 First Officer positions are the result of a shift in flying and an increase in planned augmented flying in the summer of 2008.

· This is the first of two AEs to begin staffing the LAX and CVG 73N categories.

o The LAX 73N will open January 31, 2008 and the majority of the flying will begin out of LAX with the possibility of one to two departures out of SNA.

o The CVG 73N categories will open April 1, 2008 and will fly mainly domestic routes.

· The surpluses in the LAX 765 Captain and First Officer positions are the result of Network changes to the markets in which the 767-400 aircraft will be utilized. The LAX 765 categories will close March 1, 2008.

· The positions posted for the ATL and NYC M88 First Officers are for new hire movement.

· The projected training start from this bid will be January 2008 with all conversions being completed by June 2008.

· The next bid is planned for February 2008.

I was talking with an Mad Dog captain on the employee shuttle and he said that CVG will be a mix of the -700 and -800. He didn't like the proposed rates though! LAX will be a latin routes i.e. Mexico and South America. What was the proposed rate for the -700? He said it was less than the MD-88 rate.
