Way to throw me under the bus Mark. But I'm just curious, why did it take you over a week to do it? You're not that slow are you?
The US Airways terminal thing was so like one week ago. Get with the program man!! And hey, you can't beat us up tomorrow, delays are out of our control. You know how that message goes "Ladies and Gentleman, we apologize for the delay. Air Traffic Control is a bit backed up here in LaGuardia. We anticipate no more than a 30min delay, but we will keep you informed. Thanks" LGA had ground stops today too...up to 1hr departure delays. I hate that place.

Does Colgan fly S340'S? If so, I saw one make a beautiful landing off of the River Visual Approach in KDCA a couple of weeks ago. The VASI's were out for the final turn to RWY 19. We were holding short watching arrivals. Guys were all over the place...high...low. But the SAAB nailed it.

Sure do. We go to CRW out of there.

99.999999% the Saab driver that nailed it was a former Beech guy that went over to 'mainline'

I'm in and out of LGA a lot next month. I'm NOT looking forward to it...no overnights there, so that's a plus.

There is a reduced flight schedule those days, we were not more than three in line for takeoff yesterday, did six legs.

The Expressway visual 31 at LGA is one of the most enjoyable approaches on the east coast of the US. I used to love flying in and out of LaGuardia. (Deicing for dollars!)

Never did it in a turboprop though...

I was pretty much stuck between Altoona and PIT in my turboprop days.

I'm an idiot. Besides not being able to find the US Airways terminal.

I was on reserve today and answered my phone when sched. called. They asked me to cover another trip in Albany tomorrow. I didn't want too, but said yes. I asked for it. Drive 1.5 up to LGA, flights delayed till 10pm. So I tell sched. that if they want me there in the morning for the flight without a delayed show time, I'll drive it. Get mileage/gas/tolls approved and get on the road. I left my house at 5:00pm, got to the hotel at 10:30pm. 5 1/2 hrs of drive for .5 pay credit.

If you were a corporate pilot you might get some recognition for taking such an initiative. A strong eval, a better pay-raise, etc.

At an airline you get your .5 pay and a scheduler who will forget the favor you did her the minute she hangs up the phone.

Still, I admire your initiative. Terrific team player. Wish we had some folks like you here.

You see the thing is Airdale had OFF tommorow. He was on reserve today, so they called him today to work on his off day tommorow.

The easy solution to this is get ALPA on property.

Actually, they'll still call. Trust me on this one. Oh, and we can be extended into a day off on reserve here. Keep that in mind when/if you guys wind up negotiating a contract with our mutual management.

Nevermind the corporate pilot who is passed over for promotion on account of his brown-nosing co-workers. I'm glad I work in an environment where I don't feel the need to compete with my co-workers on ways to kiss the bosses' asses in order to get a better raise than the next guy.

I think we could *all* agree there are positives and negatives to both situations.

Communism in *theory* was a good plan. In practice? Horrible.

The best thing to do on your days off is NEVER-EVER-EVER answer any phone calls unless you know who it is...LGA is a pain in the ass a good part of the time, but it is a money maker...My biggest fear is being on the "point" and getting stuck on the gate waiting to push for SPOT 23, and after that fiasco the friggin VCM craps out and the High-blowers are a mere wisp of a breeze and shoot I drank a 20 oz. coffee and by the time we get to ACK I gotta pee so bad that the F/O has to taxi so I can keep my legs crossed! Oh and lets not forget going into LGA in the middle of a "push" and S-turning along Long Island Sound getting TAs from all the VFR traffic! But, I do LOVE $1.00 employee coffee at Dunkin Donuts!
