Default Lynx Captain requirements

Does this make sense? Who are they trying to attract? Are mainline Frontier guys going to fill these Captain positions? Why would a Captain established at a regional leave for Lynx? If they're hiring street Captains, I would think they'd have slightly lower mins in order to attract regional FOs from established carriers.
  • 4000 hours total preferred
  • 1500 hours multi-engine
  • 2500 hours pilot in command (PIC)
  • 1500 hours jet/turbo-prop

Those are high, but are probably for street captains only. I've had several friends who worked at Lynx and were very low time when hired (<1000 hours). Most left before upgrade, but those who did not upgraded around the 1500 hr mark.

I know several CA's that have left here (well, at least hired, they are still here for the most part just waiting for a training date) to get back to Denver. Pay is around $50/hr I believe, so my guess is the $10k-$15k+ pay cut is worth it in their mind to drive to the airport and do day trips.

I'm not sure what Chris is talking about knowing people who "worked" there, AFAIK they haven't even received their first Q400.

As wheels said, 'worked'? They have even gotten of the ground yet

Odds are anyone with 2500 PIC is already gonna have a decent chunk of TPIC and NOT go for a street CA postion. They're probably already an established CA somewhere. If they had a mixed req of PIC and TSIC, then I'd say "yeah, definately."

$50/hr for a CA on an aircraft with that many seats is BS. Our guys get more than that on a 50 seater. I don't care if it's a TP or a jet, it's still got tons of seats in the back generating revenue.
