Default SkyWest and sitting Reserve

How long before holding a line in SLC in either the Bro or RJ? Heard SLC is going junior any truth to that?

SLC on the RJ is/has been relatively junior for at least the last year.

SLC on the Bro is relatively senior, 6 months or so just to get in and at least another two or three to be at the bottom end of the line holders.

Speaking on the FO side of things, that is.

Sounds if I were to interview and get hired the RJ would be the best for me in SLC

You may be able to delay a class date in order to try to get a different aircraft. I'd take whatever is first though.

It seems to cycle each year. Last fall/early winter, at least on the EMB, guys were getting SLC out of training or getting back in a month or so, then getting a line shortly after. When I was an FO my experience was similar to this.

Not sure about the RJ, but I would guess that the SLC EMB FO base/senority movement will improve as summer approaches.

It is so cyclical. I sat reserve, and didn't get call more than ten times, for seven months. For awhile I didn't think I was a pilot any more. I had to go in and ask to fly. But then last summer things started to move. By the time I transitioned, Sept 18, I was better than 50% of the pack for Bro FO's. It is really a crap shot. But like it was said earlier, take what ever is offered to you. Don't wait!

I was told by crew support that they are "negative reserves" on the RJ fo in SLC this month, whatever that means. I would imagine someone hired today into the riddle jet would have a 89 hour credit line the day they finished ioe. Good luck!!

Blah blah blah...the other option is 1 year+ on reserve, no or negative growth, and no upgrades going on. Pick your poison, and count your blessings while you can...

It is a bit difficult to get too mad at getting an 11 day off 96 BLOCK line when PBS did give me the specific week I wanted off and the specific trips I asked for.

It's not; I just find it humorous when people complain about things like you did. The alternative is much worse .

Is it really possible to get 3 days off in a row here? Cause I would LOVE to know how to do that......

Are your trips that bad at SKYW? 5 on with 2 off, ouch.

In my last days as an FO, I would get 18-20 days off per month with about 78 hours credit. Thats almost unheard of these days.

But I'm a pilot and I'm good at complaining! You can find it humorous as much as you want, FOUR five day trips in a month suck (and I'm not even the one this happened to). FYI, my schedule is quite nice this month, 15 days off 88 hours credit and memorial day weekend off.

Is this a bad time to mention that last month I always had more than two days off in a row, and I had 5 days off in a row at one point?

Short answer is yes. I am halfway up in seniority on the FO side in DEN and have been getting all 2-3 day trips with usually 3 off in between. (hopefully I don't jinx myself here!) So the ol' schedule has been pretty nice as of late

This month I've got all 2-days strung together into 4-days. I thought I was gonna hate it, but it's kinda nice being home every other night or better. I normally go with the 3-4 day lines to get more days off, but I had to bid around recurrent this month.

Oh man 2 day back-to-backs are great! For me at least. If I can't have 3 day trips, I prefer those.

btw - Jayare, I spent 10 months commuting to reserve so it all depends on your timing.
