Default How many days (minimum) do you recommend for a Europe turn (Non-Rev)?

How much time off does one need to go see some friends in London by flight benefits? Anyone have experience with quick turns that aren't brutally deabilitating upon return?

Thanks!
J

Have you seen the city already? If so, however many days you want to hang out with your friends.

I did London in 4 days. Friday -> Tuesday. Of course, you lose a day to travel, but you can see all there is to see in London in 3 days.

Thanks - just looking to see the friends for a night or two at most. I'm mostly interested in how much standby "protection" the non-revvers recommend so they don't miss work. A day? Two days? Thanks!

It all depends on the loads. If they're wide open... I'd probably be ballsy (or titsy, thanks seatclutcher) enough to leave no safety net. But I've never had a job that I had to be at

If you have to be back on Wednesday leave on Monday. It only takes ONE cancellation on a transatlantic flight the day you are trying to get back to royally screw things up no matter how well the loads look, don't trust 'em and be on edge!

Look into jumpseating on EOS or MAXJET as well!

There's a hefty departure tax from the UK I hear. Be ready to pay up $$.

About 100 bucks or so. Milan was 37.00. Sweden was 33.00

I've done quick 3 day'ers where we'd fly in and out with the same flight crew.

But loads really ahve to be fabulous and DON'T NAP once you get there else you're screwed and pretty much blew a three day weekend eating first class meals.

London. I saw just about everything I wanted to in 2 days. Flew out the morning of the 3rd. I probably walked 11 or 12 miles the second day, though.

It was like that in Scotland too. They were in this really dark little room with a bunch of people filing by. It was hot as as heck too. Why haven't the Brits discovered air conditioning yet? But there was this little old woman sitting on a stool in the corner who would cough and shake here head every time somebody would take a camera out.

If you are just going by your self it is relatively easy to get across the pond and back. American has about hourly service between Heathrow and JFK. Not to mention if you plan ahead and get a few zed fares you could come back on just about anybody. I would HIGHLY recommend that if you have a jump seat agreement with EOS to go out of JFKto Stanstead and take the train to London.

I would give myself an extra day on the back end. That way if stuff gets screwed up I have a cushion day and if I do get back on the first try I have a day to decompress at home before going back out on a trip.

you can see just about any major city in a matter of 2 days... we do a lot of 4 day turnarounds. one day to travel, 2 days there, one day to travel back.

you want to leave yourself at least 2 days reserve before work because if there's only one flight in/one flight out...if you don't get on that flight that particular day, you'd be screwed.
