Default Mesaba Hiring?

I just read a gouge on an un-named website that indicated somebody was hired by Mesaba for a class in April. I thought they had pilots on furlough still.

I think they've all been recalled, just recently.

Someone's gotta fly those 36 -900s.....

I'm guessing most of the furloughees found work elsewhere. I know a lot of them went to Republic/CHQ, and those guys would upgrade a LOT faster over there than if they went back to Mesaba. Talked to one guy the other day that was a 7 year FO on the Saab.....

The website is still showing 1000/100 but Wow.....

They seem to be ramping up hiring in other areas as well.

Is Mesaba going to stay a mixed fleet, with Saab's and CRJ's or be an all CRJ fleet?

Who knows. My bet is a mixed fleet. Doesn't make sense to fly a CRJ on routes like MEM-TUP. Then again, it doesn't make sense to me to have a CRJ on DTW-LAN either.

Man, Northwest has been flying the -9 DTW-FNT for years, and I see they now have the 320 going up there as well... I guess they might be making money, but then again nobody said the people who call the shots make much sense.

As for Mesaba hiring, yeah, they are interviewing at least the next three weeks.
