Default My Colgan Peeps...

Listened in on the conference call today, looks like we will become members of the CASS system within a month or so. Good news!

Whoa! First we got better insurance/disability. Now CASS. What's next, bonuses at Christmas this year? As a commuter this is great news!

So what is CASS?

And while I am asking questions, what kind of insurance bennies do you guys get? Is it actually worth getting? I didn't think most regionals got medical/dental.

CASS = A system that verifies pilot employment to allow non-company pilots to ride in the cockpit

I have medical/dental/vision with Colgan. I pay around $47 for a Blue Cross/Blue Shield medical plan that's worth about $80-100 and then around $10 each for dental and vision. There's also an option to get short-term or long-term disability and allows contributions into a Flex Spending Account.

Good luck getting the CASS going. We've been told it was coming here for the past 5 months. Apparently mainline "forgot" about us when they implemented it for themselves. It's a "priority" is now what we are being told.

Next you'll tell me the United flight counter folks have figured out how to get us on as OMCs like they should be able to too... Sounds great, but I'll believe it when I see it.

Any news on if the will be interviewing soon? I sent my app and resume about 1.5 weeks ago? Only 700 Total and 135 Multi though. It's worth a shot, I think.

Next class date is in March. Go to a job fair, one of those aero services one. The recruiters attend those. Good luck!

Next class starts Jan. 23 - 6 Beech 1900 and 4 Saab 340 slots

According to our ground instructor there's a new-hire class scheduled every month this year.

09L and my file number pulls up either *no record* or someone else from my ground school. I hope that gets "figgered" out soon.

Tip for the job fair: go in with your shirt and tie READY for an interview. Bring your resume of course, as well as logbooks, copy of medical etc. Usually if you are qualified you will get one on the spot with Jeb and one of the FA's Brittany/Ashley, as the three of them did mine.

Thanks for the info GaTech... That is exciting to hear about all the bennies.

You guys happen to know where and when those job fairs will be happening? I've got less time than Eric/Junior, but I guess it couldnt hurt to start getting them used to seeing my name come across their desk. Would be nice to get in one of those classes later in the year.

Make sure it's the letter "O" otherwise nothing happens. O makes the system go to override and then they just enter your name and voila!

Eh! Doesn't matter to me.

Apparently, Colgan doesn't want this old fart. Two resume updates and ...... NADDA!!

Ah well.... guess I'll have to settle for a jet instead.

Yep, believe things only when you see 'em happen. Lot's of talk around here....not necessarily much happening though.

I'd just be happy if they could update the conference call minutes in a reasonable amount of time....or better yet, be able to know next months schedule more than 2 days prior to it starting.

I know, I know......growing pains, everybody is busy down at the mothership. We're taking baby-steps towards the goals. I try to be patient...but it's tough sometimes.

CASS entry would be great......it'll be nice once that is implemented.

Fellas, if you check the colgan website today there's a memo on the front page about CASS. Looks like they're really serious. Everybody needs a passport...

Even if you don't want to change your benefits from last year you MUST re-enroll yourself during this year's open enrollment period.

If you are not in CASS how would you ride as an OMC. I thought Colgan only flew for Airways and Continental?
