I do...

I rent from www.skymates.com Good equipment, good folks! Just went up in a 172 yesterday.

My daughter LOVES to fly... So I have to stay current for her!

That being said... I know a lot of guys who are just thankful they never have to fly anything under 12,500 lbs again. And others that are fearful of getting violated flying GA and then loosing their Certs, thus loosing their jobs. It's crossed my mind as well... but it's just too darn fun!

[/ QUOTE ] Sure thing,

After flying around 121 for so long... believe it or not folks become uncomfortable flying around VFR for fun. When you are constantly controlled, busting airspace & TFR's is rare... although still does happen.

So... that 121 guy going for a checkout in the 172 is thinking about this in the back of his mind... also, what happens if I screw up a landing and bust up the plane and the FAA finds me at fault, or as a result of that crash I loose my medical, or some one thinks I flew too low over their house and reports my tail number, or what if I forgot to check those TFR's this morning and end up busting P49? etc...

Not saying that every pro pilot feels this way... just some. I remember that once hired by an airline, most of the instructors that I worked with just wanted to stop flying altogether... They gave away as many flights as they could... just for the fear of doing something boneheaded before showing up for day 1 of basic indoc.

Hope that helps...

*raises his hand*

I'm an airspace moron, got spoiled by having two big 21,750#'s of thrust low bypass turbofan engines, etc. However, I'm going to have to get checked out someplace at DVT or SDL before Kristie strangles me.

I'd LOVE to go fly GA again. Particularly some of the newer airplanes, like the Cirrus. But a lack of money is stopping me.

Too funny / Too true. After he was hired, my instructor told me he viewed every flight we went on as a liability...
