The annual WAI Annual Conference will be March 10-12 at the Adam's Mark Hotel in Dallas, Texas. The deadline for early registration is Jan 10th. NO, you don't have to be a female to attend! Every year more & more guys are there (by registering you are 'supporting' WAI). It is an excellent opportunity to meet the recruiters and get face time. It's also more fun that an Air Inc event and there are lots of cool freebies to be had in the convention hall. I got a job from this event a few years ago and so have several friends. "Confirmed keynote speakers include Southwest Airlines CEO Colleen Barrett, Mooney Aircraft Company CEO Gretchen Jahn, NTSB Chairman Ellen Engleman Conners, Humorist Ralph Hood, B-1 Bomber pilot USAF Capt. Kim Black and airshow pilot Chandy Clanton. We are expecting a record number of exhibitors this year in our trade show/career fair exhibit area. Be sure to bring a resume if you are looking for a new position. More than 45 educational sessions and professional development seminars will be offered throughout the three day event." https://www.wai.org/confreg/2005_start.cfm |

Are you going? I'm going to try and go, but I can't afford it this month. I'm going to have to pay the extra fee. |

Could anyone with a membership post the airlines that are going to be there? I can't seem to get past the sign in/join page on the website.

I haven't decided if I should use my money for the ski trip and getting my ATP written done (finally) or to go to the conference. I think I'm leaning towards the first one at the moment. Skiing and ATP.

Ski trip & ATP man. Definently. Not that the conference is not a worthwhile event, because it is. But if you have to pick one or the other, I would do the ski trip & the ATP. |

If you are in the job market, definately go. If you think you are going to go and it's not in the budget this month, charge it. The money saved by early registration will cover your expenses for food, ect. and you will still get in on the opportunity. (I feel they really gouge the people who register late or onsite.) If you aren't really looking for a new position, then spend the money on the ATP written.

Yeah I'm not really looking for work. I think I'm done with changing jobs for a while. I have been to these conferences before, and had an absolutely great time! Just not in my budget this year it seems. Next year for sure then (second year FO pay then, woot!)
