I read John Carr's blog pretty regularly and I find it very entertaining. However, when trying to access it today, the website is asking for a user name and password. Anybody know what this is about?

I noticed that, too. For a while there it said "URL Not Found." With John, it could be nearly anything... or many things. Time will tell.

Mr. Carr posted this today, 7-27-2009. ================================================== ======== July 27, 2009 Hello, I Must Be Going Friends, I'm sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you. I had a long and very interesting weekend and I just now have found the time to Bang out a blog. I have heard great speculation regarding my sudden absence: illness, lack of material, lottery winnings (nope, darn it.) I apologize to my friends and loyal readers for the suddenness of my unexplained departure. I managed to squeeze out a few emails over the last several days but that's about it. Please do not take my sudden absence to indicate a lessening of my hatred for the FAA. In fact a few days ago I was arguing with a particularly reckless schizophrenic who was insisting that the FAA has turned the corner and is now the model agency and employer. I tried to convince this verbose muttonhead that I used to correctly claim that FAA was a neo-inarticulate, rotten antagonist with latent criminal tendencies. However, after seeing how the FAA wants to make all of you pay for its boondoggles through increased work, lower wages and an expectation that vestiges of your last contract are some kind of manna from heaven I now have an even lower opinion of it. In fact, I'd go so far as to say that almost every day the Failed Aviation Administration outreaches itself in setting new records for arrogance, deceit, greed, incompetence and dim-witted, mean-spirited managerial incompetence more suited for the Jurrasic era than the 21st Century . It's clearly breathtaking to watch and a hell of a lot of fun to catalog. BUT... Along with summer fun I am knee-deep in a very intriguing business proposition. This work commands a great deal of my attention and frankly---at this juncture---I don't have any spare time to spare. Something had to give and my labor of love, my alter ego, my baby, my column..has to go on hiatus. For now, the Main Bang will be dark. Perhaps someday I will be back on line for egghead geniuses, pundits and author-savants to excogitate. In the meantime may I be so bold as to direct your attention to any number of great blogs out there, from FAA Follies to The Potomac Current And Undertow to Get The Flick and many others. Perhaps we'll see one another again sometime. Until then... Good luck and God Bless. ================================================== ======== He's too loud to go unnoticed. One week or One year, it will be interesting to read/hear from him. |

| He's been back at it for a while. This next quote brought my opinion of him up several notches... ![]() "And finally---I hope the incoming leadership team is classy enough to insist that Pat Forrey gets to sign his good name to the contract that he worked so hard to secure. It is his work and his legacy and each and every one of you should be thankful for it and grateful to him. Pat Forrey's name deserves to be first in the back of the book, his signature deserves to mark his accomplishment, and his service deserves to be memorialized." |
