To be or not to be...invited to a PEPC

In 2 weeks, I will have applied 1 year ago to the June 07' OTS opening for Salt Lake City. I have gotten a little ways (ATSAT, selected and interview for ZLC) but that is it. Still waiting on the tentative offer letter and its associated stack of papers. I had this great idea the other day-"hey, I should see if I can go to a PEPC and hurry this along just a little." But, the kind lady on the other end of the line in OKC said it was not possible for me, that only some were chosen for PEPC. I asked how they were chosen, and she did not know. Why could I have not gone to a PEPC? Is it simply based on your assigned location? Salt Lake does not qualify? I would have gladly flown somewhere for the day. Very odd. Now I am approaching a year, and several of you are much further than me in the process.

Something isn't right. You are OTS, selected/interviewed for ZLC? How were you interviewed and when? I believe the PEPC aspect started back in January. Possibly you fell through the crack during this timeframe. I would suggest calling OKC. If the individual cannot help insist to speak to someone else. As mentioned numerous times on this site the process is severely flawed.

I was selected to interview and did at ZLC over a month ago. I was interviewed over a month ago and was told "good job, nice interview, I'll send the reccomendation for you right now." I was told to just wait, and the interviewed said he did not know what the next step would be. I will attempt to call OKC today, again! Maybe TV weather is not a bad gig afterall.

Maybe you can't attend a PEPC because you already completed your interview and took the "old" path.

That is what I am thinking the problem is. Did you send all your paperwork in already Vortmax?

I dont think that is the case. When I attended the Miami PEPC in March, there were many who had already completed an interview elsewhere. They simply went to the PEPC and got to skip the interview portion. I had to be very proactive in getting a slot to the PEPC. Call Terri Owens or Zoey Lenker and explain your situation. They handle everything dealing with the PEPC. I bet you will get a slot at a PEPC no problem. Zoey Lenker's number is 405-798-2014.
