This is the kind of stuff that has me seriously considering other options. I just finished school in Meteorology and unfortunately, there are not many options. That said, I find myself job searching every day. I have already interviewed at Salt Lake Center( a month ago), but at the rate this is going, I may talk myself out of it by the time they decide to throw me an offer and class date. Thanks for the link. Can someone tell me the implications Obama, Clinton, or McCain would have on this mess? Who is best for ATC?

I've applied to like 20 meteorology jobs in the past month and I haven't heard back from a single one of them! I interned at the NWS, you'd think that would help me out a LITTLE bit. The job market sucks right now. blahhhhhhhhh!

My wife actually stood up and asked Obama, during a town hall meeting in Rye, New Hampshire, what he would do about the current ATC crisis. She let it be know that we are working 6 day weeks, 10 hours a day, etc. He responded that Civil Service employees were an integral part of our Nation and that he would make the FFA step up and do the right thing by negotiating in good faith.

Really though... it is a government agency and I am sure is full of idiot people. I work at FedEX (always in Forbes top 10 best places to work) and you should hear some of the things they tell us to deal with on a daily basis about the state of the company and how we have to accept cut backs and radical change bla bla bla and understaffing bla bla bla. I think any government agency will be like this and most major corporations. its all in the game. they need to get it together though.

Hey, what do you do at FedEx? I work at PVDR as a DG Agent...been there eight years.
And you are right about the 'suck it up' attitude throughout the company. Almost like the FAA only less money.
