Final Offer Letter

Hey guys,

Just curious, but has anyone who attended last week's PEPC in Ft. Worth gotten their final offer letter yet? I interviewed last Thurs. and was wondering what kind of time frame to expect.

I interviewed on 4/28. Got an email from OKC HR yesterday with an attachment called "FOL_paperwork.pdf". 16 pages of forms to print, fill out and fax back today. Keeping my fingers crossed for a May class start.

Wow May 12? That's really fast. I'm just hoping all mine comes through quickly. I have a tentative start date in OKC for May 29. Good luck next week though.

I attended the PEPC in ft worth and I'm waiting on my final offer letter. Did you get any email confirmation with your fedex package?

Dude, are you serious? They gave you 5 days notice before your class date?

They asked at the interview when I could start. I said "any time". I've got family there I can stay with for a while, and I don't need to give notice on leaving my job.

I was at the Ft. Worth pepci on monday the 28th. Today I recieved a call from a lady that is doing the background checks and she needed a form since I was in the military. I had not given it to them at the pepci because I still have 2 months left in my commitment and it had to do with after your seperated...anyways, she said they needed the form anyways. So, I am hoping that that means everything else has gone through or will go through soon and I get my final offer letter this week.

I just got the call from Brenda in HR today!! My final offer is on the way and I start ATC Basics on May 29. Seems like the endless waiting is finally over!!

I too was at the PEPC in Ft Worth (went on 4/28). The director of HR (Rick Mitchell) was the one who gave me my TOL, and he gave me a 'contact' in Aviation Careers that is 'in charge' of me. He said they were running 'about 3 weeks' to the FOL.

It has now been over 4 1/2 weeks, and still no FOL, or any other communication from the FAA. I called the lady he gave me at Aviation Careers yesterday and inquired as to what parts of my processing they were waiting on (med, psych, security, etc). Her answer was simply 'I don't know'. I asked if she could look it up and her answer was again a simple 'no'. At the PEPC I was also given several class dates throughout the summer to choose from, and I took the earliest they had, June 20th. I need to move that date back a couple of weeks if possible, which I also asked her about. She said 'I don't have any class info, can you call back tomorrow'.

So I called back today and asked the same two questions, what is my status, and what about the classes. The answer was still 'I don't know, can you call back Monday'.

Besides waiting until Monday to try again to get more information, does anyone have any info on (1) getting status updates and (2) getting class information? If I can't get any info from her, would it be appropriate to call her boss, or someone else?

I've read a few posts on here that simply ask "Can you transfer me to someone that will know?" They were then able to get a straight answer from that next person. It is worth a shot... Although I'm not sure they were given a specific person to call at Aviation Careers, but just called the standard number.

I'm in the same boat as you. I was at the Fort Worth PEPC and I called OKC yesterday to receive my status. My contact is out of town right now and his voicemail message instructed me to call one of two other people. I call one of the contacts and the woman I spoke with said that she didn't know too much about the situation. She place me on hold a couple of times and finally informed me that she would have to get back to me. I'll wait till Monday to call my orginal contact back.

I attended the Ft. Worth PEPC on the 29th of April also and asked for the June 20th date, but still have heard no word either. I am currently employed by the FAA here at Houston Center and have been here for seven years, but I work in the Tech Ops side. You would think that I could get some answers from my own human resource dept. but they to don't know where the paper work or final offer is and this is where I am coming back to just on the Air Traffic side now. It was kinda funny attending the PEPC and having to do the whole investigation, physc eval, etc when I actually still work for the FAA. What would have happened if I had failed the physc eval? Sorry sir, you can't be an Air Traffic Controller, but it is ok for you to CERTIFY the emergency power distribution system in the center. Just be patient the FAA works at there own pace.

I see I haven't been the only going through the frustrating task of receiving a FOL.

I won't bore you with all the drama since attending the APR 28th PEPC in FTW, but I would encourage anyone that hasn't received their status to stay on the admin team.

If you have the business card from the PEPC then EMAIL Robert Anderson and you will have much more success. Each time I have emailed him he has responded quickly. To date I have not received a return call from any messages I left on his voice mail. Hope this helps.

And if you are attending the June 20th basics class see you there!

Well, my HR rep actually did call me back about 5:15pm Friday and said that all the paperwork on me has gone through, still haven't received the paper FOL though.

She also wanted to know on the spot if I wanted to go to basics on June 20th, or August 19th. I asked if I could speak with her Monday, since it was already after business hours Friday. She said to go ahead and call back Monday.

I called yesterday and told her I'd like to go August 19th. The response, "I'm not sure what classes we have open, I'll call you back in a couple of weeks". "A couple of weeks" will put us within a week of the June 20th date if that is the one I must go to, which is an unfair position for my current employer, etc.

Guess they are having a really hard time having any idea what is going on down there. I guess I keep waiting, and try calling back later.
