I understand that. I'm in Austin and it would be so much easier to test up in Dallas but I got grouped in with the Houston group since technically it's closer.

I guess if the selection panel is meeting Sep./Oct. that means ,if all goes well, then we can be looking for an OKC date around the first of 09'. I guess an eight month wait from the time our announcement closes isn't too bad.

It wouldnt surprise me to see panels done in August/September. Things seem to be moving quicker lately....

Just checking in....
Any one knows what happens if you fail the test?
Is there a certain amount of time u have to wait b4 u can retake it?
Any idea of the pass/fail ratio???

Any details/feedback would be great!

If you fail, you have to wait one year to retake the test. I suppose you could continue to apply during that time, but your application will not be considered until you have a passing test score. Once you retake the test and assuming you pass, the score would be retroactively applied to all applications assuming you still have any that are open. I have no idea what the pass/fail ratio is, but it appears most people pass. If you don't, it would probably be due to unfamiliarity with the test format. The test itself will not blow you away.

According to some numbers that are floating around here, 20% of the people who take the test fail it. I'm not sure how accurate that is...

Hey, has anyone talked to the aviation career girls and talked about a actual time line AFTER testing for OUR announcement. I know every other announcement seems to be moving A LOT slower than ours. We got our test scheduled the next month or so. Thats good isn't it? Im just wondering about the time line because I am scheduled to start work for our 911 communications center here in the islands.. and I really don't want to start something and leave the next month. Because 911 is my back-up from the FAA. I would just like to have a better idea of what months we would hold our interviews in. thanks

Not a clue, but we're actually moving slower than the FEBOTS...

And if us 5/30ers don't get our testing authorizations in three days, then we'll be the slowest of all.

I applied for the 5/2 anouncement and am taking my test this thursday. I was wondering if anyone had a website that I could find out what level certain towers are rated at. I'm not to interested in going to a high level tower straight out of school.

So it is looking like July 18th is the last day of testing.?. or is there someone that is testing later? If that is the Last date, then PUBNAT 2 is moving along at almost Identical Speed as PUBNAT 1..... PUBNAT 1 closed on 02/15/2008, and the last day of testing was the 31st of April. That is ~10 weeks... PUBNAT 2 Closed on 05/02/2008, and if the 18th of july is the last day of testing, then that is ~10 weeks as well. (assuming I can still do the Simple math at this hour.... look at my posting's time stamp....). so if that is the case and assuming it keeps going at the same pace, then the Geographic selections will be collected around the end of July, and the Referal lists will be made in the middle of August. The Boards will meet, I am guessing around the last week in July/First week in September. Selections E-mails will be sent out, maybe, in the second week in September. PEPCs will be during October/November and Class Start Dates will more than Likely be next January.... But that is just purely my own personal Speculation.....

Got done with the test about an hour ago and not sure how I feel about it right now. Parts of it were easy and parts were hard. The Letter Factory was easy till the awareness questions. I could arrange the letters and the boxes, order new boxes, recognize the defective ones but when it stopped and the questions came up, it was like I couldn't remember what I was doing for the past few minutes. The ATC scenario wasn't too hard but it seemed every time I was in the middle of lining up a plane I'd get a hand off that would pop up and I couldn't deselect the play I had marked, that was somewhat frustrating. Something tells me I could have probably deselected it by right clicking but whatever. Some of the analogies were random as hell. I nailed analogies on the SAT years ago but some of these I couldn't help but say, "Wha?"

Best of luck to everyone else

what did you think about the math and scan portions? where the questions fairly straight forward or did they throw you any curve balls? i don't take my test for a couple more weeks and I'm starting to wish i would've scheduled earlier just to get it over with. thanks for the info & keep us posted.

The scan portion is easy, I know the purpose is to test reaction time but I was more interested in accuracy. The math portion is somewhat similiar to the math study guide but there are no ROC questions, the numbers are not easily divisible like they are in the study guide and there are several tailwind/headwind questions...

Damn. I had the ROC questions down too..

I asked this in another thread, but are the math questions similar to that of the CD ROM, or that of the basic estimating part of the pdf?
Both are very different.
