None of us would see class dates prior to October anyway. The biggest impact of the class freezes is there will be a bigger backlog to clear through before they get to us. So add a couple of months to the process. Not the end of the world.. particularly since we all knew (or should have known) at the onset that this process is very slow anyway.

I feel bad for those in that thread who resigned their current job with just a TOL in hand. A TOL means you could be picked up in six weeks or six years. Any date they might hand you is certainly relative. Even with a FOL a date is iffy. I personally plan to work up to the absolute last day I can and still make it to OKC in time for class. I've been through the FAA hiring process once before.. I can guarantee you they will delay your start for even the smallest of reasons.

i don't think i'd quit my job with just a TOL either. i'm already trying to save money to travel to my PEPC(if that happens) and then to OKC plus money to survive there for the first two weeks, staying employed to the last minute is the road i'm stickin to

Actually, from the sound of recent posts, PUBNAT2ers won't see OKC til at least Jan. 2009--thats what people who recently went to the MEM PEPC were told.

That's around the time I was figuring anyway... I don't think the delay for the FEBOTS is going to delay us too much...

yeah i have also been counting on about Jan./Feb., but as always, can't wait until the next step. I was Kinda hoping we would already have gotten our Geo Pref. emails by now, but i guess i am hoping for miracles.

ok... someone posted somewhere on this forum that geo pref emails should be out in 1-2 weeks. I don't remember which thread it was or who posted it because all of this JC information is just pooled together in my head

Yesterday, I called the FAA and they had said they'd start sending out gp letters in the next few days. Hopefully, this is the case

I got $50 that says they just told you that so everyone would stop calling and asking...

I'm with you. Most of you need to chill out. It will come when it comes and annoying the folks at the FAA or Robinson isn't going to do anything to speed up the process.

As long as the same person doesn't call repetitively, I see no problem in inquiring about such a serious time investment here. Those in the office are PAID to speak and provide information to the public. Don't let them get off easy.

Also, nine times out of ten, they are not the ones reviewing your application, or anything else -- they ALWAYS refer you to some other person's private office for that, so you're not disrupting the process whatsoever.

I've been following this thread for a while now, but haven't posted anything as of yet. I took the AT-SAT on 6/27 in Covina, CA and passed with a 98.2. I had a few questions I was hoping someone might be able to assist with:

1) What is the meaning of the PUBNAT2, PUBNAT3, etc. that I see in the footer of several posts? Like this one...

Are people actually able to apply to several different announcements? If so, does that somehow enhance your chances of getting selected?

1) PUBNAT1 is the first public nationwide announcement of this year, PUBNAT2 is the second, etc... It's recommended you apply to every announcement so you have backups if you're not picked up from your first application.

2) Call the facility, tell them you're interested in becoming an ATC and ask if it would be possible to set up a tour.

3) Click on User CP at the top left of the page and click on Edit Signature on the left.

They started sending out confirmation emails for the Chicago PEPC today, which is the last PEPC for the FEBOTS... hopefully this means they'll get our geographic preference emails out next week...

I hope you are right...............The MAYOTS are already scheduling their tests now.............Hope they don't plan on putting the 2 announcements together.................Starting to become a little impatient frantically checking e-mails several times a day

Get used to it. I am on month 5 and just got my PEPC email for Chicago today... 5 MONTHS!

Oh, come now, you cannot be serious.

We submitted our apps three weeks apart, you're already three steps ahead in the process, and you wonder if they're going to group us...? We didn't receive word that we even had a shot at this job to begin with, until two months later when you all were done testing -- be grateful for that, because we got the sh-t end of the stick.
