Default PEPC question

For those who have attended a PEPC, I have a few questions:

They say its an all-day event. Seeing as I am flying, is booking a flight to leave that evening at 6:30 PM cutting it too close? When they say all day, can you define the hours?

Do you still find there is still a bit of work to be completed afterward?

Do most recieve tenative job offers if all goes well? If so, how much information do they contain (school date? Salary, etc?)

Thanks for all your help in advance.

Find an SF-86 security clearance info form on the net and fill it out before you go, and take it with you so you just need to transfer the info to their copy. That will save you some grief, and time.

I got in early (8am) for the interview, received the tentative offer letter after the interview, did all the processing, and was done by 3pm. Your mileage may vary.

Definitely have all your paperwork filled out before you get there. It all depends on what time your interview is and how quickly you can get over to have the medical done. The medical definitely takes the longest since it is off site, so try to get that as quickly as possible. If you let them know that you are trying to make a flight, the folks there will try to get you through as quickly as possible. My interview was at 9:30 am and I was done about 4:30 pm. As long as your interview goes well (most of them do, you have to give them a reason not to offer to you) you will receive your tentative offer before continuing on with the rest of the PEPC. It contains the salary you will make while in OKC, your assigned facility, and your salary at your facility once you complete training at OKC. After you complete all the phases of the PEPC, you will sit down with an HR rep again and they will set you up with a tentative start date in OKC pending all of the medical, security, psych tests coming back ok.

Thanks for the quick replies, I appreciate it.

Do you think already having a secret security clearance from the military will help? Luckily, I already have a filled out SF86.

No. I have the same problem, I even have a TS, NATO COSMIC, and a YANKEE WHITE clearance. They still want to do their own Security Clearance on me. they say, that theirs is a different type and more in depth....... More in depth than a Yankee White? riiiiiight....
So just make sure you have the SF86 filled out before hand.
