| DCA at one point was a level 11 and got downgraded to a level 10 with the establishment of Potomac Tracon, don't know if it's gone back up & not too sure about staffing levels but you do get a nice view of DC from the tower. I'm sure the airspace restrictions keep controllers on their toes...gotta love the river visual approach to Rwy 19 ![]() |

| Newbie | To those of you considering moving to Texas im a 4th generation Texas native, and i can tell you that we already have enough yankes so pick another state. Anyway I dont think you guys will like the heat humidity combo we have here, but if you must come please go to Houston.

| Newbie | Yea your right sorry bout the spelling, Um also New Yorker don't take me so serious thats the problem with you yanks your a bunch of wanks that are way to serious. That post was manly meant in a good spirit, but if you want to make an issue out of it. What do you think all you guys with your 800k piece of #### houses up there (I used to live in Astoria when i went to Vaughn college) are doing when you sell it and bring the money down here? Your driving up the cost of living thats what, crowding up the roads, and not respecting our culture. We are as different as different countries, which at a couple points we were, so don't think what you do up in queens is gonna fly down here in Texas. Now just to get this strait I am not talking about your job, im talking about if you walk in to some bar talking about how much harder it is to live in new york or how its better or something like that.

| Junior Member | Lol at the Texas man...the main reason I would never want to live in Texas is because attitudes like his abound...but anyway, I haven't seen anyone mention anything about wanting to go to Nevada. Is there any particular reason for this? I listed NY and GA as my two preferences, but I'm hesitant to go down south, even if it's in Atlanta. My girlfriend is from Vegas and I know would love to go back, and the cost of living is pretty low, but it's sooo damn hot there. Does anyone know anything about any facilities out there? |

| This took me approximately 4 minutes to read one run on sentence. wow. And don't worry there is nothing in Texas that interests me so I will not be putting that in as a geographic preference, (keeping a little bit on topic) I picked only MN (both en route or terminal). |

There are some nice places to live and I guess if I have to admit it, the weather is better, but I do miss snow. Last edited by ATLTRACON; May 14th, 2008 at 09:42. | |

| Junior Member | ATLTracon--Yes, I know there are a lot of good things about Atlanta, especially for someone in my demographic, but I'm starting to feel a bit iffy about living somewhere where the state is going to take at least 10 years longer to show the social progress that the rest of the country will have already seen [speaking of Southern states, in general] No knock on the South, I've always appreciated aspects about people down here and the lifestyle, but there's also its downsides that I'd like to be rid of. But back to what I was trying to say--Does anyone know anything about Nevada facilities? |

| YO ATLTRACON! (I had my PEPC at your facility man, it's awesome!) I'm from the DC suburbs and was selected, no, assigned to a tower in Cedar Rapids, IA ( ![]() ![]() ![]() ), so I'm going to have a huge culture shock, but its an up/down level 6, so hopefully I'll check out quickly and go somewhere. I'd really like to go to AZ, FL or Texas, with TX being my #1 on that list.I've got family in Dallas, and when I went to Houston for business, I was p*ssed when I had to get on the plane back to MD. I'm OTS, but from how I see it, the ideal facility starting out would be one that was rated high enough for you to get decent money combined with a low cost of living. For anyone starting OKC on the 29th, gimme a shout! ![]() |

| Junior Member | I always look forward to your comments, no matter what the subject may be. I have a close family friend that works tower at ATL. I would love to work there, but the high dropout rate scares me. I am hoping to take the AT-SAT in ATL so he can give me a tour of the facilitites. You might know him, he's tower only thought.

| Junior Member | ATLTracon--Yeah, I wasn't sure if you were trying to be complimentary or not haha...but I know many many people who have relocated there and really enjoy it and its social scene...so I guess it depends on what kind of person you are. And that Boston "cool" accent you're talking about...yeaaaaa...lol...I'm not sure how cool that is. ![]() I wish someone would tell me about Nevada though... and I realize I'm getting repetitive now, so it's the last time I'll ask |

| Senior Member | Nevada is a state located in the western region of the United States of America. The capitol is Carson City...but that's not important right now Last edited by ATLTRACON; May 15th, 2008 at 11:41. |
