Someone posted some interview questions on the ATCCTI forum a while back, and I used them as a guideline to prepare. Most of those questions were asked, although they're not word for word. I was asked about 22 questions in total. Although it seems like a basic interview, it was quite lengthy (lasted 40 minutes), and comprehensive. The interviewers are all facility managers that are flying in from across the county to those PEPCs. Here are the questions from the ATCCI forum, along with one more that I remembered.
  • What do you think of the FAA as an employer?
  • Tell me about yourself
  • How did you prepare for this interview?
  • Remember a time at work or school where you were working as a team with a group of people and you were under a stressful situation that your team handled well. How did the outcome of this situation affect you personally and how did affect the group? What did you do to come to a positive outcome, and what did you contribute personally?
  • Same question but where you didn't succeed
  • What would your teammates say you could improve in that situation?
  • Same question but a time where you personally where only involved in the stressful situation and not with a group and you succeeded.
  • Same question but where you personally didn't succeed.
  • Do you have any ATC experience outside of CTI school(actual controller experience)?
  • Why do you want to be an ATC?
  • What qualities do you have that would make you a good ATC?
  • What do you see you career going in ATC?
  • How did you become interested in ATC?
  • What makes you different from others that could be hired. Why pick you?
  • What do you think about rules, and what would you do if you had a problem with rules?
  • How do you react when when your workload piles up and it seems that there is no light at the end of the tunnel?
  • How do you feel about shift work?
  • Could you give us references right now?
  • Is there anything else you'd like us to know?
  • Tell us the "most stressful" time in your life, what was at stake, and how did you come out on the other end?
  • What educational and outside experiences set you apart from others we could hire?
  • Have you ever held a position of trust, if so what was it, and why should we trust you?

The interview is not at all intimidating. My interviewer just wanted to talk to me, and to give me ATC advice. He then informed me that he needed to go through some standard interview questions, just for the formality. Don't sweat the interview, by any measure.

The interview is probably the easiest part of the process. Just dress nice and plan on touring the facility.
