Default Got a firm offer..wondering about lodging..

I got a firm offer letter today to start the academy on Feb 22. I've been told I should get a hotel for the first week so I can find some decent roommates in my class and someone else told me to get a place quick because they're filling up. Anyone have any suggestions? Is there anywhere that is pretty nice and close to the academy?

I would not recommend getting a Hotel, if someone in ur class wants to room, u guys can share one of the apartments either of you have, I would recommend the Citadel Suites. (405)-942-0016. Free breakfast every day, friday nights free beer and food, impromptu poker games. First stop on the shuttle route so you always get a seat, target, popeyes, 24hr walgreens right across the street and gas station. Within walking distance there is a hooters, bestbuy, and some other crap that you can spend ur $8/hr on. I CAN'T STRESS THIS ENOUGH, BOOK YOUR HOUSING NOW!!!

I just went to their website and they look like a great place to be.

Yeah, what he said. I managed to get a room for the Feb 11th class after calling every housing place available, twice. That was over a week ago. I heard someone else just tried a couple days ago and said everything was booked and had to get a hotel. Most places had nothing until March. Jump on the horn NOW. Good luck.

Book now. If you don't, you'll be stuck in a hotel or the most expensive FAA locations.

I was just rembering, one of the OU instructors who was a retired ATC from ZJX, mentioned to me that he was living in an Airstream Trailer in a trailer park. So if you have access to a motorhome or a trailer, that might be a possible option
Just throing some ideas out there!

I have heard mixed reviews, however, the only person I know that actually stayed there was this guy: http://atcjourney.blogspot.com/. He had no complaints. For what I am paying at Walnut Gardens for a 1 bedroom, I could get a 1 bedroom w/study at Mansions South. It was full when I tried to book there though.

Mansions south finally got back to me and said they have room...and cabernet suites called me back today and left a voice mail which I'm assuming means they have space...but it's $60/day for 1 room...i think Brookwood Village has space but i read some reviews about it online and the place sounds like a dump.
