Default dealing with my headset

I was assigned a headset. its a plantronics "bippie?" style http://www.comfortel.com/plantronics/images/headse1.jpg. Now i don't have "Dumbo" ears here but my ears do stick out a bit and i can't get this thing to sit properly. As i turn my head the mic boom moves all around and it makes it very hard to work and talk without concintrating overly on the headset.

Has anyone dealt with this? Maby there is a headband or some other way peopl ehave dealt with this. I figure 15K of us out there someone has to have big ears.

Ask for one like this...

Or see if they have a head band available.

Otherwise try adhesive taping a cotton plug (like the dentist fills your mouth with just prior to starting a conversation) on one side or the other of the curved part that's supposed to rest behind your ear.
