Let me ask you career guys a question. I only have a fuzzy idea about what factors go into someone working a smaller Level 4 tower as opposed to a Level 10 tower. There's a bunch of controllers working smaller facilities. Are most of them there by choice? Or were they sent there by the FAA? |

you may want to ask this in a new thread so that this thread can stay on topic!

I just picked my locations today! WOO HOO! I am hoping for LAS, as I can't move with my family being here. My second choice is in Arizona...IFP or something within a couple hours drive from Vegas. How long does it take from selection to PEPC, on average? Is there an "average time?"

GFK Tower here. Yup, stuck in the arm pit of America! haha As much as the location blows, it's actually a great place for a first facility. On a good VFR day in the Fall or Spring semesters we can push 1700+ operations a day. Average is 1200-1500 and this should grow with all the foriegn students coming on board here in the coming years. Let me know if any of you are stuck in Grand Forks and would like a tour. I'm more than happy to have you in the tower to explain the training process and how we run the show. Just drop me a line on here and I'll get back to ya. Best of luck to all of you in your ATC career! |

| One of the ladies in my class is going to PRC, but I am just waiting for her to go ballistic the next time someone says "this isn't Rocket Science".

| No, she is actually rather intelligent, it is simply the fact that it is am extremely over-used saying in class, it actually has calmed down. Side note, most of the "This isn't rocket science" replies were not to her.
