This forum has been extremely quiet....has anyone visited or talked to these folks about flight training with them?

I've talked to them and visited Accessible. I even train with Accessible. You gotta remember...here in Mississippi, we're just now getting the internet! Slow to accept new ideas.

I completed my part 141 instrument training with Accessible in Feb 08.

Please let me know if you have any question. I'd be happy to answer from a student's perspective.

carl has 6 full time indian students+ 2 full time american students+ 4 full time international students. and only one full time instructor without MEI. i don't know how is he running his running with only 1 c-172

Ok dude, you have made that point clear in 3 different threads, Yes 3 different threads....Lay off a little would ja? Im sure hes busting his tail working a lot of extra hours to get all those students through and the last thing he needs is some punk kid talkin smack about his business.....

Actually, I think this guy might be an Indian student that is unhappy because his ratings are taking much longer than normal. When I was there, Carl bent over backwards to get this guy through the program. The guy just can't seem to fly the airplane safely.

I can possibly shed some light on this situation, since I am an instructor at Accessible.

The 6 full time Indian students was correct when he posted it. 5 of them have now left, so he is the only one that is remaining in the program.

The two full-time American students is correct as well. They are both my roomates. They do more of their training in the twins though, since they need more multi time. The Indians need like 20 to 25 hours multi to fly the 737 back in India. So there is not as much cross-over there.

The four international students is a bit skewed. While it is true that we have had 4 of them at one time, they are part of the ALPS program at the AFB in Columbus. We give them only 25 hours of flight training max. And in the case of the 4 in question, they had different starting dates, so I only flew with 2 of them at a time. Once the two from Africa left, I started flying with the other ones.

We do have 2 cessna 172's (as seen in the pics). Once and a while one is down for maintenance like 100hrs etc, and then we do have one. Again, I think it is incorrect to say that we only have 1 airplane.

The hardest part of the situation was trying to push the Indians through the flight program. Out of the 6, only 1 was really doing well. He would have finished on time, considering he only had 15 hours to go to finish the private. Some of the others were over 60 hours and had problems soloing. Other are even higher (180+) and can't land in crosswinds greater than 5 knots. This was backing up the program a bit, since the 141 training has to be done per the sylabus, typically day/local flights. They could not do the solo missions, which again made it harder to get things done, especially when the days were short.

Even with these issues, I do believe that I could have finished at least 3-4 of the guys on time... that being around 6 months. Even ATP, which is a very fast school, will take 5-6 months to finish from 0 time. They might say 90 days, but if you look at the * in the corner, it assumes that you have the PPL and the 50 hrs PIC/XR under the belt before you get there. Their private program is 60 days, and it could take a couple of weeks to build up the XR time, so you are looking at 5 -6 months.

The Indians decided to go elsewhere, which is a personal choice and I do not hold it agaist them. I wish them the best in their endeavors.

How long have you been instructing at Accessible Aviation? Any words of advice for a future student.

I will arrive in GTR next weekend to begin my training at Accessible. Not for nothing but I must say that Carl seems really down to earth. Out of all the flight training centers that I visited (ATP, Ari-Ben, Phoenix, Embry ...) I chose Accessible mainly due to the personalized attention, short time for completion, and the reasonable cost. Not to mention the benefits of a 141 program.

I'm really looking forward to starting my training. See you there!

no u r wrong he is not working lot of extra hours, allthough we even fly on weekends but carl doesn't want us to fly before 9 & after 5 pm that doesn't make sense when their r lot of guys in day time!!!

i don't care about the hell ATP school, we didn't come here to do r PPL in 6 months, carl committed us to complete r CPL in 4.5 months. thats means now carl is NOT fulfilling his promise.. and thats called cheating or FRAUD!!!!! and when out of two cessans only one is available at one time so we can say that we have only one airplane

Dude, are you serious?

By posting negative comments on this thread you have opened the proverbeal can of worms. You are taking longer becuase YOU ARE AN AWFUL PILOT!!. You have logged over 170 hrs. and you still have issues that a 30hr. student has already dealt with. You recently busted your Instrument checkride by blowing patern altitude by over 200 feet on a circiling approach (among a litany of other issues). And you thought that was OK? THe DPE remarked that if you were going to fly for a U.S. carrier, you would have failed your re-check too!!

If you think that you can post nasty comments about the school and not have somebody call you to the mat, you must be daft.

Instead of blaming others, why not study? That seemed to work for a couple of the other guys in your program.

Oh yeah, I lived with your instructor for nearly three months.

Geesh, start flying or start riding ....
