Update: I did get in touch with Janet at the 3081 number and I stand corrected. It is not mandatory but is only for those who need help up front. She said we would submit receipts every 30 days for housing but if you turn in receipts you will get the full $49.80/day for housing plus the full $30.60/day for meals/incidentals. So I guess we are able to keep the entire $80.40 per diem if you choose to. The only downside is that you will be responsible for your housing for the first 30 days. |
What the hell!!! This is stupid!!! After I read your post I decided to call student services again. They told me it is mandatory unless your residence does not accept credit cards. So now I have received two differnet answers from SS.
