Red Baron,
The 35K starting salary is old news, even though it is still on the ATCA website. There is a lot of old ATCA info on the web. Contact Gary Langenfeld for the latest hiring and salary info (

From what I know it is 41.5K for less than 1500 hours instruction given, 45K for 1500-3500 hours instruction given, and 52.5K starting if you have logged more than 3500 hours of flight instruction. Starting from the lowest end it takes about 10 years to reach the max of 70K, and if you start at 52.5K it takes about 6 years to reach max. The benefits are very good, and the previous problems of two pay schedules have been eliminated with the current change to the contract, with everyone on the same pay and benefits schedule.
This isn't for those who want to build time to reach the airlines, as it is single-engine VFR only, with limited cross country and instrument instruction, but it is a great job for those who have already done the flying they wanted to and are ready to instruct as a career.
I'm ex-military and wanted to be home with the family every night, and this job is perfect for that.
