Interesting.

When I see a noose I don't think of anything "racial". I think "execution". In my hometown in the 1800s executions via hanging were common, and there's even a few folk-lore stories of ghosts of people who'd been hanged returning to haunt the town. So my first thought when I see or hear noose is of those stories.
