Default Re: How intense is IOE?

The hardest part is knowing what to do and when it is a logical time to do it.

If you don't know, then its easy to sit there during a tight turn and stare at the ACARS waiting for it to reset for example, rather than doing the stuff you can do (get ATIS, look up runway data, do your walkaround, flows).

Anyways I don't know how a company would come up with "11 minutes" as a time limit . The more you do it the faster it gets and the easier it is to deal with the rare occurrences. I've never timed myself, and my IOE captain never told me to go faster.
