It very well may have been in the past. I know that they still use Bronco's for something, and it may still have a roll in spraying. The advent of the Air Tractor AT-802, with an 800 gallon hopper has made this an airplane of choice for this mission I believe. That airplane is also the primary S.E.A.T. tanker that is in heavy use in the west - a truly remarkable airplane. One of our fellow JC'ers (T-Cart) has time in an AT-802 and his impressions are awesome. I saw a picture of one once and will try to retrieve it for you - menacing looking bird - instead of the normal bright yellow with blue stripe (for visability) these are pained black, and have armour plating. Pretty neat.
