Make certain he factors in cost for insurance, maintenance (incl. annuals, preventative maintenance, as well as some sort of reserve fund or something in case you have a really expensive annual from a blown jug or something), fuel costs, tiedown or hanger rent, etc. Airplane ownership generally costs considerably more than most people figure to start with. Thats not to say there aren't certain advantages, the biggest one in my opinion being that you know you were the only one flying the airplane. When you open the hanger you dont have to worry about what the last moron did with it... |
