I got my undergrad from UC Irvine, and I am just scared to death about losing my job when I'm 40, with bills and a family. In other words, don't put all your eggs in one basket.
I've recently been looking into becoming involved with airport operations. Theres a job at my local airport as asst GM with a pension and full health bennies, that pays $110-140K. From there I would be able to move up to Airport Manager at another airport, and a place like Socal, thats a $250-350/yr job. Not bad for a 9-5. But, I can't do it without the MBA! |
My wife's original plan was to get a degree in hospital administration. She is dropping that idea and instead changing her preferred degree to something in aviation. Possibly still a management role, but she's still looking.
Her minor was, and still is in education, but she has yet to decide on a school yet.
Sorry for not clarifying that well enough. But yes, aviation is unstable and around every 10 years we see massive layoffs, so we know to keep a backup plan in case. My backup is in the hotel industry, where I currently work, and I can always fall back on that in rough times.
