Default New Here

Hello all,

I'm new here, just found out about this site through Airliners.net.

I've loved aviation my almost my whole life. It all began in the late 80s/early 90s when my grandparents traveled often to SLC and brought me along. They flew to all points of the world and I'd see them off at the gates in SLC. I remember falling in love with the AA MD-80s, Delta L-1011s and 727s, and remember once seeing a DL 762 bank right over my head while I was in the old SLC parking lot. I was around 5 years old, and it captured my interest forever.

I was the airplane nut all throughout high school, and in 2002 got my first chance at working in aviation through an internship at my local FBO, sponsored by the high school. Unfortunately despite my best efforts after graduation, the FBO never hired me. And I had many false-starts in trying to get into this industry. I also took various discovery flights at the FBO but never had the funds in place to begin flightschool.

From 2002-2008, I've been applying annually at the local FBO, and after 6 years of being passed over, my wife and i decided to move to Salt Lake City within a year or so and start over where there is more opportunity. I hope to hire on at Million Air to get my start in the industry. Where it takes me, I don't know. I don't know if I ever will be an airline captain, but I'll be happy working around and in this industry in some fashion, as long as I can be close to the aircraft I've loved my whole life.

This year my wife experienced her first discovery flight, and as it turns out, she's a natural at it, posessing a real finesse at the controls. Our instructor was very impressed, and she may very well pursue an aviation career someday as well.

So thats it in a nutshell. Happy to be here.
