I like the "whole month" concept. Forget the weeks; forget the days; forget the numbers. Just look at the month.

In your example, change it to "if you got your private in August 2006 your BFR is due in August 2008." The exact date within the month doesn't matter.

(Let's not get into whether a FR is ever "due")
