I would not hesitate to do it this way again. A private pilot ground school class at a community college in CA runs about $150 for the semester (approximately 16 weeks and 4-5 hours of instruction per week). In my opinion, worth every penny. You would end up paying a "flight instructor" at least $30 an hour for one-on-one ground instruction. You do the math!
$150, 16 weeks, 5 hours a week? that is a deal! Wish I had one near me.
