Well, doing the kind of flying you did IS incredible! Its a blast. You'll never experience that same kind of excitement at the Airlines, if you do, well its probably been a bad day at work!
Flying for a career is definitely great. If I had my way, I'd do it until I retire (we'll see what happens). The kind of excitement you had though, well thats just good old general aviation fun! The first time I landed in a grass field, diving over trees just like you did, I couldn't wipe the smile from my face. Makes you feel like a real aviator. Now I just push buttons....but its still fun!
