All of us newbies need to realize that with controllers retiring at a higher rate then they can be replaced, don't expect the friendliest manager to authorize a tranfer bid for at least 10-15 years. I'm not saying it won't
happen, just don't expect it too.
If you don't see yourself wanting to live where your choosing facility is located for 10 years or more, do yourself a favor and decline the postition.

I've wrote before, if you have made it on the referral list of a location you really want, call the facility, ask for the manager and let them know your name and info and tell them you really want to be apart of that team. When he/she goes to OKC for the selection panel and comes across your name, he/she will remember what you had told them.
