I live in a place called The Woodlands just north of Houston. It is one of the top master planned communities in the world. The lawns are cut and the schools are very good. Take a look at

http://www.har.com (Houston Association of Realtors) and do a search. People forget that Houston is the fourth largest city in the country and has plenty to do. I usually don't go outside of a 5 mile radius of my house since everything I need is here. If I do go into Houston it is for the zoo, museum, or other events dowtown.
