I just put everything in my Hat and put my hat on top of my roller board. The last thing I do before I leave the hotel room is put my toiletry kit and laptop in my roller board and if I gotta move my hat out of the way to do it the chances of me forgetting all that stuff is pretty slim. Or Jam it in your shirt pocket that you are going to wear the next day or even just put it in one of the pockets of your roller board when you get to the hotel.

Or just get a giant tattoo across your chest that says "Don't forget ID" then leave a note next to your alarm saying read whats on your chest. Memento style...

And the ticket counter thing would work but wouldn't you still need to have a picture ID to match the ticket to pass through TSA?
