Hello, I'm a Senior in High School, I'm currently training towards my Private Pilots License. I Love airplanes and for sometime now I've been planning on going to a local community college and getting generals done, then transferring to a different college which has excellent training for A.T.C..
I'm wondering what it takes to get into this career
I've heard you just need a pulse! But good health is my answer., I hear its very stressful, yadda-yadda, but I am one who deals with stress very well and not worried about that.
Stressful? I hear controllers sit around all day watching 'family fued' and playing ping-pong.
What do I need for this career?
U.S. citizenship, three years work experience or college education, good health and a passing score on the ATSAT. Where should I go, what should I do
Apply at FAA.gov/jobs/job_opportunities/airtraffic_controllers/openings what does it take?
Also, I have a past of O.C.D. when I was a child (I no longer have it, and am not on any medication for it at this time, though I was on medication when I was a child) will I have any chance of getting a job?
You should, but I don't know.
What kind of Medical cert. do I need for A.C.T.?
Class II Medical
Thanks, and sorry for badgering on and on! Just trying to work some stuff out!!
