Right now i am building as much credentials as i can. I would like to get my multi-commercial and single addon as well, so i can have commercial priviledges in both the multi and single. I hope this makes sense.
For me personally, I am just doing my CSEL(commercial single engine land) right now because I can afford it and because a single engine complex aircraft is sufficient enough for me(Piper Arrow). I flew a Warrior for my instrument and the Arrow is very similar in many aspects so it's a much easier transition. The idea of being able to focus on the commercial rating and not being overwhelmed by spending hours learning the basics of how to fly an entirely new type of airplane(our multi trainer is a Baron) is much more appealing to me. Once I get my CSEL rating, I can get my CFI and then part time instruct and use that money to help pay for my multi addon.
