It's not arrogant to be aware of your finer qualities. If you aren't aware of them, this is a perfect time for some soul searching . Start with those things you take pride in, but haven't told anyone about.

Be prepared for some teasing from the Chief, but just give him a big grin.

(BTW, what he's asking you to do is common. One of my instructors just faxed me a bunch of his signatures, which I cut and pasted into a letter I wrote and he never saw.)
